International AcclaimHaving shown his works abroad and locally on numerous occasions, he has already gained international acclaim. From his first solo show at the Manila Hilton in 1985 to the development of his own style of creating soft sculptures later on, this artist has engaged his audience with uniquely abstract but expressive images and forms that haunt us to the depths, where their colors may take us. All rooted in his beliefs, values, life experiences, and even aspirations, his works – rough and highly textured layers of paint or indigenous materials – are certainly a window to a rich and significant journey in life, rife with non-conformity.
Best know for his “found-objects”Henri Cainglet is best known for his “found-objects” art composed of paintings, sculptures, and soft pieces. Mr. Cainglet has created Art in Tacloban after Typhoon Haiyan, and in his home town of Valencia, which is one of the towns in Bohol in the aftermath of the earthquake, using the objects found along the paths of destruction by these two tragedies. Henri used art to help his neighbors find hope and rebuild their lives in the midst of disaster and despair. His works have been seen in museums from Singapore and Malaysia, to Berlin, Austria, New York and San Francisco. His unique flair is to incorporate an objects’ unrefined roughness, its original state, into award-winning compositions.
